My wife and I were high pressured at a sales promotion for a large chain timeshare. We bought 5,000 points for $18,000 some years ago. They made a lot of promises that turned out not to be accurate. The maintenance fee was high even to start, at about $1000, and kept going up year after year. We wanted out and the company would not accept taking the points back for nothing. I asked a local lawyer what they would do if I didn’t pay the maintenance fees and she said they would continue to pursue it with a collection agency etc. She had no suggestions as to how to get out of it. Plus, they tack on late fees that are about like credit card interest!
I did a lot of investigating in how to get out of this timeshare and found that there are many companies out there that take money up front and then do nothing for you, let alone get rid of the timeshare. We were very unhappy and desperate.
I heard ReedHein advertised on Dave Ramsey and later on Glenn Beck. I trust both of them and felt they wouldn’t jeopardize their reputations unless they were sure that ReedHein was legitimate and that they do as advertised. So I contacted them and the process was explained in detail. I was told it might take 6 months or so to have it resolved. The cost seemed high at first but I felt it would be worth it in the long run. It took a little over 5 months but now we have received notification that we are free and clear of our timeshare. If you are determined to get out of your timeshare, this is the only way to go.
